About Me

trisha mcada Hi, my name is Trisha McAda. I specialize in children, adolescents, families and couples. I have experience with ADHD management, new custody arrangements within a family system, adjustment disorders, depression, autism, and anxiety. My experience includes 4 years of working with families, individuals, children, and adolescents in therapy.

A fun fact is that I have taught in the classroom setting for 16 years with 8 additional years in children and youth ministry. My license includes Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. My supervisor is Joyce Miles Jacquote M.S., LMFT-Supervisor, LCDC. My Masters degree is from Abilene Christian University in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialty in children and adolescents. Texas Tech University is where I received my Bachelors in Multidisciplinary Studies in 1997.

I use many different therapy approaches including Solution Focused Therapy, Play therapy techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gottman Therapy.  My belief is that all clients have the desire and knowledge to solve their problems, while I walk along side them to pull out their strengths and knowledge. I am privileged to be able to work with families, couples, and individuals to navigate daily life struggles. Every client has a unique story, and I believe the most important part of my job is listening to and learning about each person’s heart and desires.

Therapy for children and adolescents looks a little different with me. I like to play in the play therapy rooms, use children’s play, books, sandtray, and for adolescents I have been known to pull out Connect Four, Uno Cards, and even use art therapy techniques.
